We’re thrilled to announce that Young & Inspired has been awarded a grant from the Youth Music Trailblazers Fund to expand our pioneering early-years music project, Without Rhyme or Reason.
This initiative delivers inclusive, sensory-rich music experiences for young parents and infants—including deaf and hearing-impaired children—using rhythm, vibration, and light. Families co-create songs together, strengthening attachment, boosting wellbeing, and exploring new ways of connecting when words or hearing are limited.
Following a successful London pilot, this funding allows us to sustain and expand delivery while supporting replication through new early-years partnerships. Our team will continue testing a sensory-led approach, balancing sound, silence, movement, and touch to ensure every family can participate confidently.
We’ll also explore the creative use of technologies such as vibration mats, Roger connection systems, and light cues, not just functionally, but as part of playful, engaging musical activities. Through this, we aim to deepen understanding of how music supports cognitive, emotional, and social development, enhances parent-child bonding, and helps families meet early childhood milestones.
